God spoke to Joseph in dreams, giving him the courage to be faithful to them. Following the Spirit, members of the Congregation of St. Joseph are encouraged to dream as well—and to take action to make their dreams realities. Supported by the community, members see their dreams take shape in various forms of ministry.
CSJs engage in a wide range of ministries. We initiate and participate in community organizations and are advocates for peace, justice, and systemic change. We are social and parish workers, counselors, educators, pastoral ministers, chaplains, spiritual directors, administrators, bereavement specialists, nurses, environmentalists, authors, artists, musicians... the list goes on.
As followers of the Gospel, we have served those who are homeless, mentally and/or physically challenged, lonely, sick, abused, incarcerated, economically disadvantaged, dealing with death, and others in need.
We currently support ministries in the following areas:
Care of Creation
Conference & Retreat Centers
Peace & Justice
