1 Sm 16:1b, 6-7, 10-13; Ps 23:1-6;
Eph 5: 8-14; Jn 9:1-41
They said, "How did your eyes get opened?"
"A man named Jesus made a paste and rubbed it on my eyes
and told me, 'Go to Siloam and wash.' I did
what he said. When I washed I saw." Jn 9:10-11
They marched the man to the Pharisees.
This day when Jesus made the paste and healed
his blindness was the Sabbath. Then the Pharisees
also began to ask him how he had received his sight.
He said to them, “He put mud on my eyes. Then
I washed, and now I see.” Some of the Pharisees said,
“This man is not from God for he
does not observe the sabbath.”
Am I from God? Do I observe the Sabbath?
Personal ChallengeWhat does it mean for us to observe the Sabbath?
Remember that to observe the Sabbath is a commandment!
The Jewish community refers to the Sabbath as a joyful day -
a delight. Today is Laetare Sunday. Lent is halfway over
