The Congregation of St. Joseph believes in and respects each human person. We stand with those who are marginalized and we are saddened by the effect the Vatican’s latest pronouncement has on the LGBTQ+ community. We know that such pronouncements can bring disappointment and pain, and we lift our hearts together in prayer with all individuals, families, friends, and others who are impacted. When one of us is marginalized, the entire human family is diminished.
We are called by God to love one another, and with love comes compassion, respect, and sensitivity for others. We will continue to do the work needed as sisters and associates to be allies and to help LGBTQ+ individuals find welcome in our church and in our world.
