Gn 12:1-4a; Ps 33:4-5, 18-22;

Reflection
Jesus is inviting us to the top of the mountain with him as he did Peter, James and John. Imagine climbing that mountain with Jesus, and wondering what was going to happen when we got to the top. During this time of Lent, we are invited to spend time in prayer with Jesus, and in all reality, time spent in prayer is being taken to the mountain top.
Spending time in prayer, quieting our hearts and souls will allow us to hear the voice of God telling us to listen to His Son, Jesus, with whom he is well pleased. Can you imagine being so deep in prayer that a bright cloud would overshadow us and God would speak audible words to us.
We are in a very serious time in our lives, with all that is happening in the world, with drugs, alcohol, and violence. Jesus is telling us to look to him and to pray, to call upon him and not to fear. God says, “This is my beloved Son, listen to him.” We cannot hear him, unless we take time to be alone with him in prayer.
Prayer
Gracious and loving God, it is to you we look
for the grace to continue on, to live the lives you are calling
us to. To not be afraid, to listen to your Son.
We long to hear you speak to us. Thank you for your grace and love.
Amen.
Personal Challenge
I challenge you to spend extra time in prayer and quiet your
hearts and souls to just be. I challenge you to read in the
Scriptures how many times Jesus took time to go to the
mountain alone, and be in communion with His Father.
